I really don’t know how to start talking about that situation we are living… In fact, I didn’t even want to talk about it, because we are already exposed daily to a immense amount of information by the media and people’s social medias. Some specific people that most of the time are not so well informed and are taken for fear and despair. Making us even more anxious and fearful with the whole situation that is out there.
But, we are living difficult and uncertain times with the spread of coronavirus worldwide and I just wanna write some comfort words before share this post. A very simple way to relieve and entertain the days of people that can be having harder times than us!
I am sure that this dark period will pass and I think it is extremely important take all possible measures to protect ourselves from the disease, and also protect the most susceptible around us, such as children, the elderly and people with some fragility. Without thinking that it is an exaggeration to wash your hands too much or cut social interaction, because this is the minimal we can do. Or buying all the toilet paper from all stores without thinking about the other people who will also need them, as if the world would end. I even understand this precaution, but it won’t help.
I don’t like people saying what I should or shouldn’t do and don’t intend to do that with none on my posts, but we cannot let fear and selfishness take over of us. We need to stay calm and do not overwhelm our emotions on social medias. It’s time to take good care of our healthy and loved ones, put into practice all the hygienic precautions indicated, and be aware that we are doing the best to contain the situation.
We can also see something that brings us some joy on these days that everybody needs to stay most of the time at home. Spending more time with your children, being able to sleep more, watching your favorite movies and series, cooking new and comfortable recipes… there are a multitude of things we can do to make this period go by in a better way.
I have been 90% at home for 2 more years, cleaning, organizing, cooking, watching, writing for the blog. And here in our home, not so much has changed. Yesterday also, my husband finally returned to work from home, as he had been doing for years. He had been going to the office since last year because of a new project at work. But now, we are both home again. We bought enough food to spend these next two weeks without need to go to the store (I think), and we are taking everything well.
So, thinking about the people who are not so used to staying home so long, I decided to make this list with my 34 favorite movies for you marathon or watch little by little during this period of ‘quarantine’. I also want to write still this week, another post with cool ideas and hobbies that you can do without leaving home.
Most of the movies are romantic comedy. Others are drama, suspense, sci-fi and fantasy, which are obviously my favorite genres. I have watched almost all of them. Only about 3 or 4, I’ll still watch, but I loved the trailer and so, I decided to recommend them here too.
Most are available on Netflix USA. Others are available on Amazon Prime Video, Hulu, Disney+ or Youtube Movies. Almost all included in the subscription, if you have one of the four first streaming services, and others, that I liked so much, available for rent or buy on Youtube Movies. My husband and I, since we don’t have cable tv, we subscribed Netflix, Prime and Disney+. So, I watch a lot from all them.
Right bellow, you can watch all the 34 trailers and at the end of the post, there’s a checklist page for free print, where you can mark the movies you’ve already watched. That’s a fun way to spend more time with your family and update your list of favorite movies for this year.
Tell me here in the comments if you have seen any of these movies below, what did you think of them, and which one is your favorite.
I definitely can’t choose only one favorite! But some of them are Love, Rosie; Little Italy; Interstellar; About Time; Amélie; Aladdin and Eat Pray Love, which I have watched countless times. I’m also addicted to space and time travel, and all the Disney’s classics! I know that some people have prejudice against romantic/ fantasy movies, but I love them and I think they are the best to brighten difficult days.
I hope you enjoy my recommendations and can go through this period in the best possible way!
